Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the escort service industry in Latvia
As the lockdown is just over and we are trying to return to normality, I suddenly decided to write down my thoughts, observations, and feelings about COVID-19 impact on the escort industry in Latvia.
The spread of the COVID-19 virus seriously affected the hospitality and tourism services in Latvia. So it also impacted me. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, many of my regular clients regularly flew to Latvia for business or leisure purposes. Many of my loyal clients are now afraid to travel, and I have not met some of my well-known clients for months. Some of them miss me too and sometimes try to schedule video chat sex, which I never accept.
Local people became more anxious to meet me during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, I met with local people once in a blue moon, carefully researching information about them on the Internet before agreeing to a meeting. I behave this way because the escort service is not the only industry I work in, and I have many interests and projects outside of escort. So I meet many people every day. And I should admit that it happened several times when people I had already met in my everyday life tried to book an escort meeting with me.
Some local people try to pretend to be foreigners, but usually, they cannot trick me. Other people are more straightforward and offer more money trying to persuade me to meet. However, I always refuse it trying to keep my anonymity.
Before the pandemic, men who did not want to cheat on their partners also asked for contactless meetings, but it rarely happened. A prominent sign of the COVID-19 pandemic is that now more and more men ask for a contactless meeting. So only face-to-face talks, striptease dance, playing with a vibrator, and no sex, caresses, or touches. Please take into account that such meeting is still face-to-face when we meet in person. I do not offer video calls or virtual sex, and bothering me with video calls is the easiest way to get blocked.
And even several men showed up at my door wearing face masks. Every man loves my blow job; therefore, no one has forced me to wear a face mask yet. However, I don’t mind wearing a mask if you ask me to.
This autumn number of new reported COVID-19 cases in Latvia rapidly increased and has reached extremely high levels. Therefore the government had declared a set of extraordinary safety measures effective from 21 October to 14 November, including a curfew (20:00-05:00) for everybody and significant restrictions on movement and mutual contacts. During this lockdown, many men were depressed and eagerly looked for various opportunities to get fun and relax. Many men invited me to meet after the curfew in the hotel, but I never agreed to meet at that time. The fine for violating curfew was up to 2,000 euros. The expected gain from a meeting is not worth the risk of getting punished. I believe it is better and safer to be a law-abiding person.
Finally, the lockdown is over now, and the government has lifted some of the restrictions for fully vaccinated people and people who recovered from COVID-19 in the last six months. At the moment of writing, over 60% of the Latvian population is now fully vaccinated against COVID-19. I got fully vaccinated in May, and I will take a booster shot when it is required. I believe it is not a high price for safely returning to the way of life we enjoyed before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Stay safe and keep healthy! Protect yourself and others! Get vaccinated!
